See what is needed for succesful connect

  1. Personal computer (desktop or laptop) equipped with interface for wired network connection (Ethernet)
    • Current laptops and motherboards are equipped with this interface, for the older desktop computers you can buy a network card.
    • Tablets and similar devices usually have not an Ethernet interface and usually it can not be bought.
  2. Supported operating system 1)
    • Microsoft Windows 7
    • Microsoft Windows Vista
    • Microsoft Windows XP SP3
    • Ubuntu Linux
    • MAC OS X
  3. Access data for eduroam
    • Account is automatically created within the creation of account in the STAG
    • Password changes are independent on the STAG password - Eduroam and STAG are different accounts.

  4. Ability to set the OS as directed
    • For the supported OS systems detailed instructions are made (for some, you can download programs for automatic configuration), with it less-experienced user should be able to set up his computer too.
    • If you are not comfortable in setting computer yourself, ask a computer-experienced colleagues
    • At last, you can ask for help Informatics Centre staff. But they will solve only cases where the state machine will be obvious that the owner of at least trying to configure itself. How to contact CI see the Contacts section.
1) Just because your OS is not in the list does not automatically mean that it is impossible to connect them (eq most Linux based OS will be connected), it means only that the user of such OS has to deal with the configuration oneself. On the contrary, some older OS do not meet requirements - they are such as Microsoft Windows 98, 95 and Me. For these OS has ended support of the manufacturer, and their network connections in dorm will not be solved.
